Community Outreach

Partnering with God to bring about the reality of Jesus’ prayer,
“On earth as it is in Heaven.”

Our vision is to mobilize, equip, and empower the local body to reach the world with the message of the simple Gospel

Our local missions include actions such as street evangelism, food preparation and distribution, school supply distribution, blessing other church families through finances and prayer and anything to help bless our local community and families. Multi-church worship services throughout the community to break down walls or barriers of separation.

Holy Smoke Ministries

Spreading the love of Jesus through delicious grilled meat and sharing the Good News with everyone around him, Elder Joel Gorelick is the heart of local outreach here at The River.  Find out how you can get grillin' with Joel while helping to bring hope to the lost and broken.

Drive -Thru Prayer

With locations in both Williamsburg and Charles City...our Drive-Thru Prayer Teams are prepared to pray for, bless, and share Jesus to all who pull in for prayer.  We've been able to lead people to Christ, been witnesses to miraculous healing and established connections with our local community. We especially love all of the honks and waves of support we receive from folks who drive by.  Click the button below to receive more info about how YOU can get involved!

Wood Ministry

Our Charles City wood ministry outreach is a partnership with Promise Land Pastures and other local churches. This much needed ministry serves the most vulnerable in the Charles City community and helps keep families warm in colder months. Many community members still heat mostly/solely with wood...and some even still cook over wood stoves. We chop, split and stack wood at PLP and we deliver the wood to those who are homebound or cannot pick up the wood themselves.

We are always looking for volunteers with servant's hearts who want to make a real impact in the community. Come join our Wood Ministry Team and be the reason someone see's the Love of Jesus through the warmth of firewood.
